Rachel Esselstrom-James
Ellie’s mom, Co-Founder of IWF.
Rachel knows first hand what it is like to have a child diagnosed with cancer. She cared for her daughter Ellie full time during her fight. She is passionate about helping and supporting other families fighting cancer.
Rachel has a degree in Human Development and Family Studies and before Ellie’s diagnosis had planned on continuing her education and working as a Special Education Teacher.
Rachel lives with her husband, two dogs, and Ellie’s horse in Tennessee.
Kyle James
Ellie’s dad, Co-Founder of IWF
Kyle also knows first hand what it is like to have and loose a child to cancer. Kyle has a heart of gold and loves children, he is passionate about helping families who are fighting or who have fought the battle against cancer.
Kyle served for 10 years on active duty in the Air Force as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller. He now serves in the Air National Guard as an F-16 Avionics Technician and serves in Real Estate. He is passionate about airplanes and all things flying.

Gretchen McCoy
Board Member of IWF
Gretchen McCoy is a Nurse, Military Wife, and mom of two boys. She is passionate about children with cancer and fights hard to help raise awareness and funding in Ellie’s memory.
She worked on the Board of Directors of two amazing organizations, the David Eikenburg Memorial Bike Ride Foundation and on the board and as Activity Director of Camp Agape, a bereavement camp for children, for several years.
Gretchen lives in Texas with her husband, their two boys, and their two dogs
Quinci Waller
Board Member of IWF
Quinci Waller knew and loved Ellie like family. She has since helped in spreading awareness for children with cancer in her memory and is excited to be a part of IWF.
She works in the Bay Area nonprofit world and has co-created a nonprofit Creators Offline. She brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for nonprofits! She is an amazing theater performer and has a degree in Performance Studies and Communication.
Quinci lives in California with her dog Kaia.
